Teenager killed by car, injured in crash with truck in suburban Chicago


A 15-year-old boy who died after being struck by a car in suburban Detroit was killed by the driver who was in the vehicle, authorities said Monday.

The teen was struck by the silver Mitsubishi Lancer on Saturday around 10:30 a.m. in the 700 block of W. Michigan Avenue, according to the Detroit Police Department.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said a second driver was taken into custody for questioning.

The driver, a 31-year old woman, was taken to a hospital where she was treated for minor injuries, police said.

The case remains under investigation, police and the Michigan State Police said.
