The National Hockey League announced Tuesday it is ending its Depression Association of America (DAA) program, which offered support and referrals for those who felt they needed help.

“We are extremely proud of the many individuals who have made the effort to join the DAA over the past five years,” NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly said in a statement.

“We hope they will continue to find ways to find the support they need.

We hope they can continue to play a part in helping to heal the nation’s collective sense of grief.”DAA’s goal was to provide a safe, confidential place for individuals to find resources for those experiencing depression, as well as referrals for treatment and support.DAA helped over 30,000 participants through the program, Daly said.
