When the film “Depresso” hit theaters in March, it was hailed as a milestone for the depression field.
And its popularity has not gone unnoticed.
It won a Golden Globe, an Academy Award, and a Critics’ Choice Award.
In fact, some of the films about depression are even making their way to theaters now.
But it is not only the movies that have captured the attention of the public.
A new movie, about a doctor’s attempt to treat depression, has also captured the imagination of the world.
But for some, depression has never been seen as something to be feared.
The documentary “Depression: A Documentary” is a rare, powerful look at depression treatment.
In the film, a man goes to a therapist for help.
The therapist says depression can be treated, but that it is a life-long condition that can’t be ignored.
“Depressions are not something that you should feel ashamed of, but you should understand it is part of your life and part of who you are,” the man, who has a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder, tells his therapist.
“I am a woman and I am depressed, too, but I don’t want to let my depression affect me negatively.”
His therapist tells him that there are ways to manage his depression.
Depression has become a controversial subject.
People who have suffered from it often feel ashamed about their condition, said Dr. Karen Flanders, director of the Mood Disorders Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
In a 2012 study, she said, about one in six people who have experienced a depressive episode in their lives have attempted suicide.
And many depression sufferers feel they have a stigma associated with their condition.
“Depression is not a mental illness, and the people who suffer from it, the ones who do it, are not entitled to it,” Flanders said.
“It is a very stigmatized illness.”
In a way, depression is like a secret that you don’t know about.
And you might not even know about it, because you’re too afraid to tell anyone about it.
So, when you’re depressed, it’s not really something to hide.
It’s something to acknowledge.
When the doctor tries to treat him, he says that he does not like the idea of the therapist.
But he says he knows the therapist and his relationship to her is strong.
“She’s a very, very good therapist,” he says.
“And she knows how I feel, and she knows that I’ve had a lot of struggles.”
He also feels he’s treated him fairly.
He has said that he has not treated the man as an enemy.
“If you ask me why I didn’t treat him as an ally, I would say that I had been doing it for a long time and I was tired of being ignored,” he told the doctor.
And he also says that the man feels he has done something right.
The psychiatrist in the film said that depression is a serious illness that is very difficult to treat.
“We often forget that the depression we are feeling is not real.
It is a psychological state, and it is like an episode of a different episode.
And it doesn’t feel real.
You don’t feel it,” Dr. Patricia M. Wertheimer, who is an assistant professor at the Columbia University School of Medicine, told CBS News.
She says that people with depression often experience severe depression for long periods of time.
She added that depression treatment is very different from medication.
“There is no medication that can treat depression.
That is the way it works,” she said.
The man in the documentary says that it’s difficult to talk to someone who is depressed, because of the stigma attached to depression.
But there are some things that are worth remembering about depression.
First, there is no such thing as a “normal” depression.
The condition can be anything from a mild or moderate episode to a major depression.
Depression is not something to feel ashamed for.
And there are plenty of treatments for depression, even if they don’t work for everyone.
There are also medications that are used to treat other conditions.
There is even a drug called “Depakote,” which can treat major depressive disorder.
But the real value of the documentary, says Wertheim, is that it brings attention to a problem that many people don’t realize is there.
She said it’s important to remember that depression does not mean people are bad.
It means there are feelings that are hard to overcome.
“When people think of depression, they think of feeling helpless and hopeless,” she explained.
“They think about going through the motions.
They think of not getting out of bed, and they think about their problems with money, relationships, and so forth.”
And the film highlights this struggle.
But if you are struggling, it can be worth it to be there for the person with depression, said Wertiam.
