3 Mindsets Moms Need to Break Free from Fear

Break Free From Fear - Learn from you Children

You are sitting there looking at your child(ren), thinking about how amazing they are. Even when they are clingy, whining, and just super needy, you appreciate your children for their presence, and love. One of the aspects of my children’s personality that I admire the most is their fearless approach to life. They take on monumental tasks on a daily basis and they don’t fear any repercussions or the possibility of failure. They instinctively know that failure is a part of the growth process and the take the world head on anyway.

As we grow older, life beats the fear into us.

  • We fail on a test and there are repercussions.

  • We forget to pay a bill and bam a late fee is attached.

  • You attempt something out of your comfort zone and it doesn’t turn out as planned.

The list can go on and on. My point being that we are born fearless. We only internalize fear from the experiences we have in life. It really is our choice to decide whether we choose to be fearful or fearless.

One Important Revelation About Mother’s Day and Managing Expectations

One Important Revelation About Mother’s Day and Managing Expectations

Belated  Happy Mother’s Day to all my readers.

Unfortunately, last week I was unable to blog. I hit my six month of pregnancy and caught a sinus infection. On the external, my husband had a broken tooth pulled, my mother had an appointment she needed support on and I still have a pre-schooler to care for. Whoa! What a week!

I’m so grateful to have most of the turbulence from last week settled and we are back to a calmer groove. The thing is life happens and sometimes it just happens all at once, which means there isn’t much you can do but hunker down and ride the wave. I made sure to find time for self-care (longer showers, essential oils and sleep were my best friends last week) but otherwise just focused on making sure everyone had what they needed. All of this led to Mother’s Day! Oh, I forgot to mention, my husband had to work on Saturday, so I my expectations for the Mother’s Day were really low. I don’t mean it in a depressing way but rather that the reality of the situation is that everyone was tired and holidays can be stressful. Stress was the last thing I wanted for Mother’s Day

3 Lies You Tell Yourself About Motherhood

3 Lies You Tell Yourself About Motherhood

Lies we tell ourselves about motherhood

Growing up, my mother stayed home with my brother and I. When my mom decided to stay home, it wasn’t a difficult choice for her. She had us at a young age and in her country mothers stayed home with their kids. It was wonderful having my mom pick me up everyday, being there for me in order to help me navigate the difficult transitions throughout childhood. Meals were always prepared, she went on school trips with me and my teachers knew her well.

When I was 11 she decided to finished her high school diploma and eventually became a teacher; it was a profound moment for all of us. She tells me, how she came to believe that she had to be a certain way to be a good mother and it took her a long time that this wasn’t true. My mother discovered a passion of hers and followed through on making it a reality. She let go of many of the lives she told herself about motherhood and in whatever role she played in my life I learned a great deal from her.

You Are the Solution, Believe that You Are!

You are having a problem in your life. Maybe it’s weight loss or lack of time; the point is there is a frustration in your life that you find challenging right now. As you think about how to solve this problem, you start racking your brain trying to figure out who to reach out to resolve this issue. If your problem is weight loss, you decide to find a trainer to get you to your ideal weight. Or, you don't have enough time to get everything you need done, so you look for a program that will help you add more time to your day.

You have these resources in your hand, and you are excited to get started. You go to the trainer twice a week, then once a week and then you are paying for trainer services you never use. Or, you spent an entire day planning out your new schedule because this time-saving program is the program that will help you achieve your goals and a month later you forget what the name of the program is.
